Sažetak: The aim of this paper is to connect mathematics and theelements of performing arts (dance, movement, play, music, and thelike) in order to make certain mathematical content more familiar to thechildren of early and preschool age, and make it more entertaining, thusmaking learning of mathematical content easier for them in general.Current practice clearly shows that children of early and preschoolage are not familiar enough with basic mathematical content. One ofpossible reasons is that educators are, generally speaking, methodologically not prepared sufficiently for early mathematics, which impliesthe necessity of changes in curriculum, namely, in very approach to andway of working with children. Therefore, the emphasis is placed onchronologically appropriate teaching, as well as on the importance ofinitial understanding and adoption of mathematical logic and concepts.Concrete mathematical examples are elaborated in this paper with theaid of performing elements in order to enhance the current curriculum.Mathematical and performing procedures will be applied to the examples of learning and comparing numbers, sets, and relations of sets andbasic geometric content.
