Sažetak: A very specific river basin is situated in karst of the western part of Herzegovina, and the Trebižat River course is part of it. During the summer of 2008, numerous explorations were made in the area of cascade Kravice, and some of them are still in progress. For the purpose of best possible understanding of role and significance of rocks and soil in this area, analysis of results of the complex investigations was undertaken. Positioning of structures of MHPP Kravice as well as the installed flow are conditioned primarily by full preservation of the Kravice Waterfall as a unique natural entity. That all offers a possibility of familiarization with this natural phenomenon and the area around it, which provides opportunity for its more rational use but also more efficient protection in the future.
